Our mission is to provide timely transportation to and from medical and nonmedical destinations in a clean, well maintained, and certified vehicle while providing the highest quality patient care. We are dedicated to utilizing the latest technology to ensure accurate and up-to-date patient care reports.

Alexandre (Alex) Theoharidis

Alexandre (Alex) Theoharidis
President, CEO, and Founder

Alexandre is the founder President and CEO of CMTS. As a Cape Cod native, Alex began his career in the Emergency Medical Services field over 10 years ago, having worked as a firefighter and paramedic prior to launching CMTS. His extensive field expertise, coupled with industry knowledge provides CMTS team a vast understanding of all clinical and operational aspects of the medical industry, including patient care, operations, billing, reimbursement, and workflow processes.

Alex has a proven track record of successfully managing rapidly growing businesses from the ground-up to maximize growth and profitability. Alex founded CMTS in 2013 and grew the company from three employees to a staff of 120 in less than three years growing revenues 224% annually. Due to his success at CMTS and his commitment to the community, Cape & Plymouth Business named him a 2016 40 Under 40 Honoree

Michael Pieretti

Michael Pieretti
Chief Operating Officer

Michael graduated from Cape & Islands Emergency Medical Services as part of the Paramedic Class 40. Utilizing more than 11 years of professional experience in ambulance transport and the education of EMS providers, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as Chief Operating Officer.

Michael’s  education background includes emergency medical technician (EMT) and subsequent paramedic training at Cape Cod Community College, completing his clinical internship predominantly at Cape Cod Hospital, and field internship at the Yarmouth and Dennis fire departments. Prior to joining Coastal Medical Transportation Services, Michael has served as an EMT, paramedic, and Critical Care Transport EMT.

Louis Kouvaris
Chief Financial Officer

At CMTS, Louis serves as Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for all financial, tax, and accounting operations, including communications with lenders and equity stakeholders.

Louis has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of Accounting and Equity Trading. Prior to joining CMTS, he worked as a Senior Auditor at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and as an Institutional Sales Trader at Access Securities, CRT Capital Group and Cantor Fitzgerald. He was also a member of the Client Development team at LogicSource, Inc. and served as interim Chief Financial Officer of Nickerson PR.

Louis graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration and Accounting.

Spero Theoharidis
Executive Vice President, Operations

Spero serves as the Executive Vice President of Operations for CMTS. Through his relationships with healthcare institutions, Spero helps to ensure the seamless operations and strategic growth of CMTS. He also provides valuable industry knowledge and feedback to help CMTS enhance its technological capabilities and continue operating as the leading EMS provider throughout the Cape and surrounding island communities.

He thoroughly enjoys providing the best customer service possible, as well as creating new innovative ideas that help to differentiate CMTS from its competitors and keep it ahead of the game. He started with the company in a role as Vice President of Customer Engagement. In this role, he led the company’s partnership development and ongoing engagement with healthcare institutions.

Patrick Lofgren
Director of Operations

As Director of Operations at CMTS, Patrick manages and supports functional operations within the organization. He has a protean career in EMS that spans 19 years of experience across a wide range of industry vocations.

In addition to eight years of valuable clinical experience as a paramedic in a municipal 911 EMS system, Patrick has also worked in EMS education and EMS management. Most recently, he filled a hospital management position in the Emergency Department at two local community hospitals. Patrick also supports CMTS’s Executive Vice President of Operations with strategy initiatives and customer/healthcare facility relationship management.

The Vehicle Production Group (VPG) Mobility Ventures (MV) MV-1 Model is the first purpose-built accessible vehicle in North America constructed to meet or exceeds the relevant Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. It seats up to six adults, with two in full-size wheelchairs. Chairs are allowed entry via a power telescoping ramp, featuring a 1:6 or 1:4.4 slope, able to carry 660lbs at mid-span.

All applicants applying for a position at Coastal Medical Transportation must have the following credentials:

  • Emergency Medical Technician – Basic
  • American Heart Association CPR card
  • Valid MA state drivers license
  • High School Diploma – GED
  • Fluent in English. Provide additional languages spoken

All Coastal Medical employees must be physically fit for duty and able to lift, pull, push and handle up to 180 lbs.
