South Yarmouth, MA – July 30, 2020 – As Cape Cod businesses and groups look to safely continue to operate and re-open, Coastal Medical Transportation Services (CMTS), a medical transportation company offering a personalized experience to every client, has created the Safe Return Program to offer customized, mobile COVID-19 testing. Schools, care facilities such as nursing homes, group homes and assisted living facilities, sports teams, businesses and even families or individuals can call (508) 694-6687 to schedule private on-site or in-home testing.

Mobile COVID-19 Testing in Cape Cod“As a leading private ambulance service provider of non-emergency medical transportation services, we are uniquely positioned to meet the need for mobile testing in the Cape Cod community,” said Alexandre Theoharidis, president and CEO of Coastal Medical Transportation Services. “The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed all businesses to innovate. We understand the importance of delivering caring, compassionate, timely and reliable service for COVID-19 testing.”

Coastal Medical Transportation Services’ customized testing program enables business and groups to streamline and accelerate the testing process, which is critical to ensuring community safety. Rather than requiring employees, students or players to independently coordinate their own testing, CMTS provides clerical and scheduling support so people can setup a hassle-free appointment in the comfort of their own home or workplace, which also mitigates potential exposure to coronavirus at a test site.

Coastal Medical’s experienced team has provided thousands of tests to both individuals and healthcare facilities throughout Cape Cod and Massachusetts. EMTs and paramedics in full personal protective equipment perform the specimen collection and safely transport the collected specimens to the laboratory. Clients receive results within 36 hours via email and/or telephone call, and CMTS provides reporting and follow-up information to the organization contact, eliminating potential operational delays for the business or group caused by excessive lag time between testing and results.

Teachers receive lifesaving training from local medical transport company

SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. – Representatives from Coastal Medical Transportation Services (CMTS), a leading medical transportation provider serving Cape Cod & the Islands provided a hands-on CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) training course for faculty members at Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School on Wednesday.

The two hour course focused on teaching faculty members the fundamentals of both CPR and using a AED, including quickly identifying life-threatening medical emergencies, proper techniques and certification. Additionally, those in attendance were able to practice what they learned on simulation mannequins.

Wednesday’s event was the first time CMTS has provided training to faculty members at a local school. Representatives from Cape Cod CPR & First Aid Training also provided training and helped to organize the event.

Executive vice president of operations at CMTS, Spero Theohardis, speaks to teachers during Wednesday’s CPR training

“As our company continues to grow, it’s important for us to stay involved and give back to the communities we serve. Many of our team members at CMTS attended Dennis Yarmouth High, or now have kids growing up and attending school within the district . It was an amazing experience to go back and provide this lifesaving training,” said Spero Theohardis, executive vice president of operations at CMTS.

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), at least 383,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur each year. Effective CPR provided by a bystander can double or triple a victims chance at survival, however only 32 percent of these out-of-hospital cardiac arrest victims receive proper CPR.

Teachers practice chest compression on CPR training devices.

In addition to the CPR and AED training provided by CMTS, the company also provides medical transportation details for each of Dennis Yarmouth High School’s athletic events and continues to welcome students to intern with the company through the work-based learning program offered by the school.

Currently, CMTS has plans to offer additional CPR and AED training for school faculty members.

“Our goal is to increase the availability of this training to a few times per year and get as many faculty members certified within the district as possible,” said Theohardis.

SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. – Coastal Medical Transportation Services, a leading medical transportation provider serving the Northeast U.S., is expanding its fleet with the addition of a new advanced life support paramedic fly car, which will help improve response time and resource utilization.

The company’s new fly car is scheduled to hit the roads in early January and will function as a non-transporting paramedic intercept vehicle. The vehicle is fully-stocked with all the lifesaving supplies found in an ambulance, and will remain available solely for advanced life support calls.

The vehicle will complement the CMTS’ existing fleet, which consists of 25 vehicles and over 100 employees who serve the Cape Cod community. CMTS has two operations centers that cover each end of the cape, as well as, a 24-hour communications center.

“Our company has grown immensely over the course of the last three years, servicing nearly every health care facility throughout the Cape and surrounding islands,” said Spero Theoharidis, Executive Vice President of Operations at CMTS. “The new fly vehicle will result in improved immediate availability of advanced life support resources and ensure the right resources are being utilized correctly ultimately delivering better patient care and experience to those in need.”
